Nov. 26, 2024 ExIESLP Program of Our Graduate School Selected for MEXT's 2024 "Priority Placement Program for International Students"

News

The Graduate School of Environmental Studies has been committed to operating programs where international and Japanese students study together for over 15 years. This initiative began with the establishment of the "International Program for Environmental Sustainability Science (IPESS)" in 2009, followed by the "Strategic Energy and Resource Management and Sustainable Solutions (SERMSS), " the "International Environmental Leadership Program (IELP)", and the current "International Environmental Security Leadership Program (IESLP)."
Among these, the IELP and its successor IESLP were previously implemented as part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)'s "Priority Placement Program for International Students." Building upon the success of these programs, our graduate school proposed a new initiative, the "Extended International Environmental Security Leadership Program (ExIESLP)," for MEXT's 2024 "Priority Placement Program for International Students." We are pleased to announce that, in recognition of our past achievements and ongoing efforts in this field, ExIESLP has been selected for implementation under MEXT's 2024 program.

While the official abbreviation for this program is ExIESLP, it will continue to be commonly referred to as IESLP.
