Fieldwork in Kitakyushu

December 6-8, 2012

From 6-8 December, we organised a fieldwork visit to Fukuoka Prefecture. 13 Masters and Doctorate students took part in visits to Fukuoka and Kitakyushu water departments, Kitakyushu next generation energy development, and also made research presentations to Kitakyushu City University.

To learn and understand the current situation and concept of energy use at a local broadcasting company, SERMSS students visited TBC (Tohoku Broadcasting Company Limited) in Sendai.

Field Study at East Japan Recycling Systems Corporation and Hosokura Mine

December 14, 2011

SERMSS students joined a one-day fieldwork to Kurihara, Miyagi, to visit Hosokura Mine and East Japan Recycling Systems Corporation on December 14, 2011. At EJRS, they learned about the recycling law for home appliances with four samples. Also, they visited the site of old mines, institution for wastewater treatment to learn about recycling lead extracted from lead-acid battery.

Field Trip to Nagoya, Osaka and Kyoto - Regular Course

October 27-29, 2011

SERMSS students went to Nagoya, Osaka and Kyoto and visited corporations such as Toyota and Panasonic. They also visited historical architectures to understand what ancient Japanese people leaned from international techniques.
